Job description
Position Title: Material Analysis Chemical Engineer

Position Summary:
Our company manufactures world-class semiconductor substrate handling equipment and metallic contamination control equipment. The Material Analysis Chemical Engineer, by analyzing metallic impurities in silicon wafers, chemicals and gases used in the semiconductor manufacturing will maintain and improve metal analysis operations, on-site in the customer's chemical analysis lab or FAB, supporting their efforts to best operate, maintain, develop, and manufacture innovative semiconductor equipment.
The candidate must be knowledgeable chemical analysis techniques, chemical monitoring, contamination control, and managing an array of related tasks and projects for both sustaining and improving output yield quality. If the candidate has ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy) background, it is preferable.

Duties & Requirements:
Strong chemical engineering proficiency required
The design, installation, and qualification of fully automated semiconductor equipment, for improved metallic contamination analysis and detection on silicon wafer surfaces, chemicals and gases used in semiconductor manufacturing
Manage service contracts and (annual) Preventative Maintenance programs for customer's analytical instrumentation
Work closely with tool service and application engineers to resolve and develop strategies to minimize downtime
Ability to apply chemical principles in new and creative ways
Expert knowledge of element, chemical components, solutions and mixtures
Understanding of safe handling procedures of all chemicals, including hazardous materials
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Superior math skills, including physical and chemical math equations and theories
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Skills to develop strong relationships and rapport with customers during service
Ability to digest mechanical and electrical diagrams and drawings to find root cause of problems
Ability to work effectively as a team with other staff members
Significant travel required, and working on-site at customer locations
Other duties as assigned

Educational Qualifications:
Bachelors or a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering required
